Zeynep Cengiz: “Women Should Stand on Their Own Feet”

Zeynep Cengiz is a young and brilliant 25-year-old pharmacist!

Zeynep pursued her dream of becoming a pharmacist during her high school years and said “I want to do this profession”. She graduated from high school and started to study pharmacy, which was her dream, and successfully completed it. Before the earthquake, she worked as an assistant pharmacist for 1.5 years. This process was prolonged for her due to the earthquake. Zeynep could have worked in a pharmacy in a hospital, in pharmaceutical companies, or as a lecturer at a university, but her real dream was to start a business of her own. She chose to start her own business. She started to search for it and found the workplace she wanted. She renovated the workplace with her own labor and transformed it into a pharmacy in a short time.

She saw MaviKalem’s call for projects through social media. Thinking that material support could improve her business and contribute to her profession, she took a chance and wrote a letter. Zeynep never thought she would be included in the project, she was very happy and excited. Thanks to the material support, her work has improved, accelerated and relieved her.

”I couldn’t believe that I was involved in the project until my supplies arrived, I never expected it. I was very happy. My refrigerator was broken and I couldn’t store cold chain medicines, now thanks to you, this problem has disappeared and I can store medicines with peace of mind. My most important needs were met thanks to you.”

Zeynep is now continuing her job at full speed. Since there is a health center in the neighborhood where her pharmacy is located, she has a certain customer potential. She loves communicating with customers and loves her job.

Zeynep also has a message for women!

“Women need to stand on their own feet and strive for it. Young girls and women should complete their education so that they are not dependent on anyone.”
