Eda Hüseyinsinoğlu: Add Flavor to Your Table with Healing Spices!

“I am glad that I am doing this job, I am glad that I am among people and communicating. I am very happy for this. I was very emotional before, but tradesmanship taught me to be strong, patient and resilient. I love my job.”
Eda graduated from the Department of Social Studies Teaching at university. As a woman living in a village, going to university drew reactions from her community, but it made her stronger. She loved teaching for years, but in 2020, she decided to quit teaching. She left teaching, but she did not lose her motivation to work and stepped into a different business. With the support of her family, she opened a herb store and entered the business world. After establishing her own business, she transformed it into a commercial structure. Although she missed teaching, she got used to her job and started doing it passionately. She became known as “Herbalist Eda”, loved and recognized by her customers.
“I am glad that I am doing this job, I am glad that I am among people and communicating. I am very happy for this. I was very emotional before, but tradesmanship taught me to be strong, patient and resilient. I love my job.”
In the February 6 earthquakes, she lost her workplace and all the equipment she had built with the support of her family. But she did not give up. She struggled to rebuild her business and applied for prefabricated markets. She had the opportunity to open a business in the Honda Junction prefabricated market. This was a new beginning for her, it gave her strength and helped her get back on her feet. She renovated her empty workplace, moved products from her home into the shop and started building her business from scratch. Living in difficult conditions in Hatay encouraged her to embrace her work even more.
Being at work and communicating with people was good for her. She overcame her difficult times by standing at the head of her business and started regular sales. In time, she became one of the most popular shopkeepers of the bazaar. Thanks to her sincerity, reliability and warm relationships with people, she won the hearts of her customers.
Eda applied to MaviKalem’s project to further develop her business and was accepted. The support she received as part of the project helped her organize her shop and increase her sales.
“With the materials you provided me, I was able to display my products better, making my shop more visually appealing and increasing my sales. Thanks to the delivered containers, my workplace is organized. Even incoming customers started to notice this. They noticed products they could not see before and made more purchases. This is a great support for me. With the income I earn from my work, I support my parents, meet my daughter’s needs and make my payments.”
Eda, who continues her business in her prefabricated workplace, is not limited to spices, but also produces and sells natural products such as tomato paste, olive oil, molasses and pickled turnips. She aims to reach a wider audience by promoting her quality and reliable products on her Instagram account.
Her biggest dream is to brand her business!
“I want to be branded. I want the bags and sachets I give to customers to say ‘Eda Aktar’. When spices and the name Eda come together, it may be something that no one will think of. But I trust the Eda in me, my sincerity. This has given me a lot.”
Eda continues to work to grow her business and gain an even stronger place in the sector by making her own name a brand! You can visit Eda Aktar shop located in Antakya, Honda Junction Prefabricated Long Bazaar No:70 and taste delicious and natural products on site and shop.
