Şaziye Ördek: Natural Products Shaped with Love

Şaziye Ördek’s professional life started with the necessity of a gluten-free diet.  She turned the necessity into an opportunity! She decided to produce organic, healthy food to meet her own needs. Over time, her experiments in the kitchen turned into a business. When she decided to start meeting her own needs and offering healthy products to others, she didn’t just start a business; she also pursued a dream.

She started producing organic products such as vinegar, beet kvass, mulberry syrup and pomegranate syrup. For a while she only shared it with her family and friends. They said “let us buy from you now, this is your business” and this made Şaziye realize that she could turn her passion for production into a business. She is now a guest not only in the homes of her family and friends, but also in other homes with her healthy and natural products by sharing her products on her account.

Fermented, additive and chemical-free, each piece is shaped with patience and love in Şaziye’s kitchen. “I don’t sell anything I don’t consume,” she says.  When she needs raw materials for her own products, she buys organic products from women producers.

It was only seven months after the earthquake that she was able to start reproducing!

The February 6 earthquake reshaped her life. She lost her home and production materials. “After the earthquake, I built myself a kitchen in a container. I wanted to show that nothing is impossible,” she says. We see that nothing has really stopped her. Since she did not want to sell any product that she did not produce in a healthy and hygienic environment and that she would not consume in her own home, she started to produce again only 6-7 months after the earthquake by providing her kitchen and the necessary conditions. Subaşı participated in the Labor Bazaar and started to promote her products By sharing about her products on her Instagram account, she both reaches her customers and conveys her passion for her work to people.

Şaziye’s story goes beyond gluten-free nutrition. What she is doing is an example of a business created by a woman’s determination, dreams and love. With the money she earns, she educates her daughter and offers her a strong future. Her biggest wish is to one day have a bigger production area and provide jobs for people.
