Burcu Bihan S.: You can trust Burcu for carpet, sofa, blanket and car washing

Burcu is a physiotherapist. After graduating from university, she worked as a physiotherapist in a rehabilitation center for a year and then in a non-governmental organization. After the earthquake, she was unemployed for a year and took a break from her job. Burcu searched for a job, and since she had a young daughter, she wanted to start her own business and work flexibly under comfortable conditions. She thought that the job she really wanted was a flexible, self-managed artisan business rather than a regular and systematic job. For this, she started a carpet, sofa, blanket and car wash business.

For a year after the earthquake, she gathered customers from her neighborhood in a carpet washing shop. However, she did not earn any income from this business. Over time, she observed that there was a lot of demand from the neighborhood. Despite not having a workplace, Burcu became known as a car and carpet washer.

Burcu, who heard about MaviKalem’s project from her colleagues while working at the association, saw the project as an opportunity to start her own business and wanted to try her luck by applying. She applied to the project to continue her auto and carpet business. She was very excited when she was included in the project and organized an area in front of her house as a car and carpet washing place to start her business. She started her business with the carpet washing machine and foam tank provided by MaviKalem. Her husband also supported Burcu in publicizing the business, promoting it to those around her and bringing in customers.

Now Burcu works as a physiotherapist at a rehabilitation center during the week, and at the weekend she takes care of the car and carpet washing business. She directs the requests for car and carpet washing during the week to her partner. Burcu plans to invest the money she earns in the business to develop and grow the business. For this reason, she invests in her workplace with the income she earns.
