Dilek Randa Visit Her Boutique for the Newest Models!

The Story of a Woman Who Founded Her Own Business Despite All the Pressures!

Dilek Randa started working immediately after graduating from high school. She got a job as an accountant in a company and practiced this profession for years. Her biggest dream was to study at university, but the conditions of that period did not allow her to do so. Dilek continued to work even after she got married and valued her economic freedom:

“I was working even before I got married. Once a woman earns her own money, she doesn’t want to depend on her husband or anyone else.”

Despite all the difficulties, she did not quit her job. She took her children to the company where she worked and took care of them, and she never thought of giving up her job. She did not pay attention to the words of those around her, “You got married, you don’t need to work anymore” and continued her way. Moreover, she did not stop with the company she worked for and started selling clothes at home. While her family, husband and friends expected her to quit her job, Dilek worked at the company, took care of her children and grew her own business by selling at home. She continued in this way for years, but due to health problems, she had to quit her job in the company but continued to sell at home. In 2020, she realized her dream by opening her own boutique. However, while she expected support from her family and her environment, she faced the opposite obstacles.

“It is less conspicuous for women to work for a boss than to start their own business. No one supported me, including my husband. I was expected to be a woman who just sits at home, cooks and takes care of her children. But I wanted to work and start my own business, so I did.”

Dilek lost both her home and workplace in the February 6 earthquake.

“I lost everything with the earthquake. I had saved a few products, but I didn’t know what to do with them. Moreover, I was looking for ways to work because my husband had lost his job.”

Dilek requested a tent from an institution official, thinking that she could sell in a tent. Thanks to the support provided, she continued her business by selling products in the tent. She continued her business, albeit under very difficult conditions. However, after a while, the owner of the place where she set up her tent asked her to remove it. Unable to do the work she loved, Dilek fell into great despair. In this process, she met MaviKalem and this became a new hope for her.

“My tent was very worn and leaking water. This was damaging my products. I wanted to continue my business but I didn’t know how. MaviKalem provided me with container support and I was able to hold on to my business again. You gave me hope.”

Dilek built her business through social media and her network. She carefully follows the needs of her customers and tries to offer them the most suitable products. She not only sells, but also delivers the orders herself. She tries every way to bring the product to the customer; she uses social media actively, prepares the orders carefully and delivers them in her own vehicle. Her biggest dream is to open her own business again!

“No matter how difficult the conditions are, women should continue their work. Because we have the power to do it.”
